About us
Mental Health Awareness and Care Initiative (AMHACI) was registered with cooperate affairs commission (CAC) in 2018 as a national mental health NGO. To develop and implement mental health education programs in schools, universities, workplaces, and community centers to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to maintain good mental health and recognize early signs of mental health issues in others. To freely train educators, counselors, and healthcare professionals on evidence-based approaches for addressing mental health challenges effectively. To promote disseminating culturally sensitive mental health information, considering the diverse populations and languages across the continent.
Who we are
Raise Awareness and integrate Mental Health and Psychosocial Support To increase awareness about mental health issues and the importance of mental well-being among individuals, communities, and stakeholders. To foster partnerships among healthcare providers, governments, NGOs, and community organizations to create coordinated and integrated mental healthcare initiatives. 2.Strengthen Mental Health Crisis Intervention: To develop and implement crisis intervention programs that provide immediate and long-term support and assistance to individuals, families and communities experiencing mental health crises. In collaboration with the government promote mental health strategies that could protect, promote and prevent mental disorders. 3.Improve Access to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support and Information: To provide accurate and up-to-date information on mental health disorders, their symptoms, and available treatment options through various channels such as websites, workshops, and educational materials. To promote disseminating culturally sensitive mental health information, considering the diverse populations and languages across the continent.

Establish Support Networks To create a network of support groups for individuals living with mental health conditions, enabling them to share experiences, provide mutual support, and foster a sense of belonging. To collaborate with existing community organizations and NGOs to strengthen mental health support services. 6. Policy Development: To advocate for policy reforms and increased funding in mental health at the national and regional levels, aiming to improve mental health services, resources, and infrastructures. To work with governments and policymakers to develop comprehensive mental health strategies. 7. Conduct Research on Mental Health in Africa: To initiate and support research initiatives focusing on the prevalence, causes, and risk factors of mental health disorders in different African populations. To encourage collaboration between researchers, mental health professionals, and communities to foster culturally relevant and context-specific research.
We started extending help to needy children and youth who were eager to study and work for a better life. This moment intensified when we found that there were many such underprivileged children who needed help with food, shelter and education. Our team expanded and we spread out in different regions to make sure we cover all possible areas and help as many children as possible.
